Some good tips there. String bending is one of the hardest techniques to get right. It is hard to bend exactly to the right pitch.
Point 4 is a good way to check.

Great article for a complicated question. Tube amps sound much better but cost more and a real tube amp has both preamp and power amp tubes.

Yeah, the problem is that most tabs on the internet do not show you the rhythm of a song, so it's close to impossible to learn a song from tabs, if you've never heard the song before.

Yeah. I remember back in the mid 90's you brought in an EM arpeggio you found in a magazine or somewhere that was an yngwie malmsteen thing. I had to go home that night and pratice it to get it up to full speed in order to teach it better.

In a 1991 bout with tendonitis I had to completely re-construct my technique to be able to keep playing. Practicing up to 8 hours a day with bad technique got the best of me. Accupuncture and using a tens unit were very helpful in my recovery. I would highly reccomend them.

Mike,

Great post. While I am not ready to teach someone guitar, I appreciate the practice of teaching. Teaching my son to get his shoes on, strumming Daddy's guitar and different parts of the guitar are some of my recent teaching events. Hopefully, the guitar that my son will get this year for the holiday will help him even more. Thanks again for your guitar lessons...

Signed,
I fellow student.
